The best running back duos in the SEC this season: It’s a loaded league

JORDAN SCARLETT, by Kim Klement/USA Today Sports

7. Florida

The duo: Jordan Scarlett and Mark Thompson
The skinny: Scarlett has 1,000-yard potential; truthfully, he should become just the third Florida 1,000-yard rusher since Ciatrick Fason in 2004. For some reason, Gators coaches seemed hell-bent on distributing the carries equally last season, but Scarlett emerged late in the season as a true feature back. Thompson is a bruiser who had trouble adjusting after transferring from junior college, but he has talent. The same goes for Lamical Perine, who could end up at No. 2.
