Saivion Smith was a four-star prospect in LSU’s 2016 signing class. He will be a four-star JC transfer in Alabama’s 2018 class.
Smith (6 feet 1, 175 pounds) left LSU after spring practice in 2017 and transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. He tweeted out his destination Wednesday afternoon.

Coincidentally, the Tide received a commitment from four-star prep cornerback Nadab Joseph on Tuesday night, and he originally was an LSU commitment.
Smith is a St. Petersburg, Fla., native who played his junior and senior seasons at IMG Academy in Bradenton, which is about an hour south of St. Pete.
Smith was one of the top five corners nationally as well as a top-50 prospect overall in the 2016 recruiting class. He played in 10 games as a true freshman reserve, making four tackles. He is considered one of the top-five junior college players in the 2018 cycle.
He is Alabama’s 14th commitment and the third from a cornerback.
