Alabama and LSU each had a league-high 13 players selected to the 2016 preseason coaches All-SEC team, the league announced Thursday.

Ole Miss’ Chad Kelly was named first-team quarterback. Leonard Fournette from LSU and Nick Chubb from Georgia were the first-team running backs. Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk was named to the first team as both a wide receiver and an all-purpose player.

The first-team defense would be especially difficult to move the ball against, not only because of the high level of talent throughout the roster but because the coaches selected 12 players – four each on the line, at linebacker and in the secondary. Tennessee and Alabama had three players each selected to the first-team defense.
