Here’s a look at all the games involving SEC teams in Week 6 of the season.
There are six league games this week, and no non-conference matchups. But the week isn’t all that appetizing, though there is one cross-division game that should be quite intense, if nothing else.
Here’s a look at all the Week 6 SEC games.
Ole Miss (2-2) at Auburn (4-1)
Time/TV: Noon, SEC Network
The line: Auburn by 22.5
The buzz: Auburn is the only FBS team that hasn’t allowed more than 14 points in a game this season. Ole Miss was trampled 66-3 by Alabama last week and hits the road again this week. Bad news for the Rebels is that Auburn’s running game should be able to do some real damage. Ole Miss is surrendering 229.5 rushing yards per game. Auburn rushed for 307 last season against the Rebels and should be able to get 300 again. Ole Miss’ only hope – as it is against any team with an offensive pulse – is a big game from QB Shea Patterson. It will be interesting to see if Auburn’s pass rush can get to Patterson, who was dumped five times by the Tide last week. These teams first met in 1928, but this is just the 42nd meeting in the series; they have met annually since 1992. Auburn has won six of the past eight against Ole Miss.
The pick: Auburn 45-17
