The three best SEC games in the second week of the season

OK, an epic Week 1 is behind us and it’s on to Week 2 — which has a few epic games of its own.

Here are the three best SEC games this weekend. Included is an actual intra-conference game that could have an impact in the East Division race.

3. South Carolina at Missouri

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
The skinny: An interesting game in the SEC East, as the winner definitely will be a team to watch in the division race. This is the first of three big conference games for the Gamecocks in September; they play host to Kentucky next week, then play at Texas A&M on September 30. Both offenses have a lot of firepower: Missouri with QB Drew Lock, RB Damarea Crockett and a deep group of receivers, while South Carolina has QB Jake Bentley, WRs Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards and TE Hayden Hurst. Can either defense stop the other? Mizzou’s defense was the worst in the league last season and was torched by FCS member Missouri State in the opener. South Carolina, meanwhile, surrendered 504 yards to NC State. An issue for both defenses is that this week’s opponent is far better than last week’s offensively.
