The 3 SEC players most on the spot in Week 4

Here’s a look at the three SEC players who will be most in the spotlight in the weekend’s games. Suffice it to say, if these guys shirk from the glare, their teams are in trouble.

All three guys on the spot this week are quarterbacks – and two quarterback teams who are home underdogs. Big games by the quarterbacks will go a long way toward determining whether the home ‘dogs get the wins.

3. Kentucky QB Stephen Johnson

The skinny: UK is a run-first team, for sure; the Wildcats have run the ball on 63.3 percent of their plays this season. But chances are Johnson is going to have to make a few plays with his arm Saturday as UK attempts to break its 30-game losing streak to Florida. Can he do so? As a whole, UK’s receivers are an underwhelming bunch. Through three games, the Wildcats have only two receivers with more than five catches – WR Garrett Johnson has eight and TE C.J. Conrad has seven. Florida is not going to fear UK’s passing game and is going to load up to stop the run. Can Johnson make the Gators pay?
