The 3 SEC players most on the spot this week

Here’s a look at the three SEC players who will be most in the spotlight in the weekend’s games. Suffice it to say, if these guys shirk from the glare, their teams are in trouble.

3. Missouri QB Drew Lock

The skinny: This appears to be a lost season for Mizzou, which is 1-3 and coming off a bye week. Then again, outside of a game against Georgia, the remaining schedule isn’t overly daunting, beginning this week at Kentucky. UK’s secondary is nothing special; it allowed 299 passing yards to Eastern Michigan in a narrow win last week. But can Lock produce? He has 13 TD passes but also 13 picks in his past 10 games against SEC opponents (i.e., since the beginning of the 2016 season). He also has completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in four of those 10 games. Mizzou’s defense figures to get run over, so if Mizzou is to even keep this close, it’s up to Lock to come through.
