The order in which SEC players will be chosen in the NFL draft – we think

The 2017 NFL Draft starts a week from today. We’ve gone through the Senior Bowl, the NFL Scouting Combine and pro days to finally reach the culmination of an always-too-long draft process.

The SEC looked to be in line to dominate the first round when the process began. Is that still the case? Oh, yeah.

Here are the 10 SEC players likely to come off the board first, listed in order.

1. DE Myles Garrett, Texas A&M

Range: First or second overall.
Comment: Garrett appears to be close to a lock to go first to Cleveland. While there has been recent speculation the Browns could take North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky first overall, expect them to take Garrett. The Browns can use the 12th pick on a quarterback (or use that pick to trade up). Garrett is too rare an athlete to pass over. If Cleveland does bypass Garrett, it would take San Francisco a millisecond to turn its pick of Garrett into the league.
