Some people start their social media accounts with a “Hello world!” Trevis Hopper said “hello” to Arkansas and he’s already gotten hundreds of college football fans paying attention.
The three-star defensive lineman activated his new Twitter account Saturday and used his first tweet to announce his commitment to Arkansas:
I want to take time out my day too say thanks to the people in life that make me who I am and the coaching staff of University of Arkansas I will like to say I am now a committed football player to university of Arkansas Go Razorbacks 🏈😝🏈👌🙏🏿#Blessing pic.twitter.com/Jixd3lUfnr

The 6-2, 260-pound Hopper plays for Memphis (Tenn.) Central. He selected the Razorbacks over teams including Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Clemson and Miami.
In other words, he’s a quality pick-up for Chad Morris and Arkansas, which finished a disappointing 49th in the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings for the 2018 class. Attracting promising out-of-state prospects like Hopper is one big step toward improving that picture.
Although Hopper is a three-star recruit, he’s been making a major impact in high school and won Tennessee’s Mr. Football award for the best lineman in Class 5A. He is the first commit in the Razorbacks’ 2019 class.
In barely 36 hours, he’s gone from a brand new Twitter account to having 1,062 followers, and counting, as of Monday morning.
