Was Georgia impressive enough to take top spot in our SEC Power Rankings?

14. Arkansas

Last week’s ranking: 14

Arkansas blew an 18-point lead late in the third quarter on the road at Colorado State. The Razorbacks missed a field goal and punted three times in their last four drives. It doesn’t get any easier as Arkansas hosts a good quarterback Mason Fine and his North Texas team this week.

13. Florida

Last week’s ranking: 7

For the first time in 31 years Florida lost to Kentucky. Even worse, the game was in The Swamp.

The Gators offense was a shell of itself from last week, managing just 360 yards and 16 points. Florida hosts the same Colorado State who beat Arkansas this week.

12. Vanderbilt

Last week’s ranking: 13

Vandy scored 24 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 41-10 win over Nevada. Kyle Shumur had 258 yards passing and two touchdowns in the win.

The Dores travel to South Bend to take on Notre Dame this week.

11. Tennessee

Last week’s ranking: 12

The Vols scored touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams in a 59-3 win against East Tennessee State. Tennessee held ETSU to 194 yards of total offense in the victory.

The Vols host UTEP this week.

10. South Carolina

Last week’s ranking: 4

The Gamecocks had a chance to show the nation how much momentum they had built off last year, but the Bulldogs were just too much. Georgia pulled away easily in the second half in a 41-17 win.

South Carolina tries to bounce back this week against Marshall.

9. Ole Miss

Last week’s ranking: 10

Ole Miss scored 75 points last week, but allowed FCS member Southern Illinois to score 41.
The Rebels defense allowed 629 yards. They have little time to find answers before hosting Alabama this week.

8. Missouri

Last week’s ranking: 9

Missouri defeated Wyoming 40-13 last week, a game in which Drew Lock had 398 yards passing and four touchdown throws. The offense totaled 601 yards including 203 yards on the ground.

The Tigers go on the road this week visiting Purdue.

7. Kentucky

Last week’s ranking: 11

Kentucky with the biggest move in the rankings as the Wildcats beat Florida on the road. The Wildcats rushed for 303 yards with a 7.4 yards per carry average. Kentucky will host Murray State this week.
