Former Alabama linebacker Dont’a Hightower received a big new contract from the New England Patriots this offseason.
Hightower signed a four-year, $43.5 million contract, which includes $19 million guaranteed. Surely, that’s enough to celebrate over, especially if you’re Hightower’s mother, L’Tanya, who shared a video of herself dancing around her kitchen after news of her son’s new deal on Wednesday.
Hightower was paid $7,751,000 in 2016 after New England picked up the fifth-year option on his four-year rookie deal, which was worth $7,724,002.
Hightower has played five seasons with the Patriots since being selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2016 and has been part of two Super Bowl teams during the past three seasons.
