Georgia already is making big moves in its 2019 recruiting class and among its latest commitments in the class is four-star linebacker J.D. Bertrand.
In the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Bertrand’s sophomore highlights at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia, his ability is well on dispaly.
Bertrand picked the in-state Bulldogs over offers from Iowa State, LSU, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Georgia inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann is his primary recruiter.
Bertrand does not yet have a 247Sports Composite ranking, though that should change at some point. He is ranked by 247Sports’ in-house recruiting service as a top-15 outside linebacker, as well as a top-150 overall prospect in the nation and top-15 overall prospect in Georgia.
Last season as a sophomore, Bertrand had 68 tackles, including eight for loss and one sack. He also had 14 catches for 205 yards and four touchdowns. He played in only seven games.
