Is it really possible to duplicate Georgia receiver Terry Godwin’s catch against Notre Dame? Two Bulldogs stars showed it’s even harder than it looks.
Quarterback Jake Fromm and wide receiver Javon Wims took time at practice Tuesday in an effort to reproduce Godwin’s acrobatic catch. And of course, it wasn’t so easy.

Some drops, some overthrows, even a few genuine nice catches (check out that jumping grab by Fromm).
But nothing that comes close to the highlight reel grab by Godwin in the Bulldogs’ 20-19 victory over the Fighting Irish last Saturday.
Godwin broke away from his defender and then reached above his head to catch Fromm’s pass with one hand, all while falling backward in the end zone and successfully remaining in bounds. The catch has been compared to a similar NFL play from New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
