Auburn football and tailgating form an inseparable relationship. The Weber grill company has developed a new way for Auburn fans to show their team spirit while tailgating, or simply grilling at home, with its new Weber Q University grill series.
The Weber Q University grill series features a custom lid reflecting each university’s signature colors and logos. The custom Weber Q 1200 grills will be available online and in select bookstores beginning this summer for $299.
Auburn is the only SEC school featured in the series, which also includes Florida State, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas and Wisconsin. Additional schools will be added throughout the year.
A survey conducted by Weber showed that 96 percent of people who grill do so on game days.
The grills feature 189 square inches of cooking space, porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates for perfect sear marks, easy-to-start push button ignition, a built-in lid thermometer and two handy folding work tables. The Weber Q University grills are easy to transport and set up with a Weber Q portable cart (MSRP: $79.99). The cart features a simple mechanism allowing users to quickly set up the stand ready to support the grill. For easy transport, the cart folds down with the grill attached and can simply be wheeled like a suitcase.
Auburn fans wishing to check out the new grills in action will have the opportunity to do so when the Tigers host LSU on September 24. Before the game, the Weber team will be on campus demonstrating the new grill’s capabilities.
