Yes, Michigan had the most players drafted this year. But which school’s players received the biggest contracts in the 2017 NFL draft class? It’s an SEC school – but maybe not the one you might think.

With more than $75 million in rookie contracts, LSU stands atop the list, as posted by longtime NFL personnel executive Gil Brandt from figures compiled by Spotrac.

The big money comes in large part because of the Tigers’ three first-rounders: running back Leonard Fournette (fourth overall), safety Jamal Adams (sixth overall) and cornerback Tre’Davious White (27th overall).

Those three help the Tigers get an edge over an SEC West rival that has trumpeted the hefty contracts for its own draftees. Alabama has promoted how much Crimson Tide draftees received in their rookie contracts, and it’s an impressive total – but not the most in its own division, much less the nation.
